Chabad arrived in Hackensack only about a year ago, yet it’s already having a strong, positive impact on the community.
Here are some important facts about Chabad of Hackenack. This is our vision and our plan, but we simply can't do it without you. 100% of our support comes from generous people like you - so please partner with us!
Chabad is here to serve the Jewish needs of everyone who lives, works or even just visits Hackensack. Just like the Rebbe asked us to: we have an open-door policy: regardless of your background, affiliation or Jewish knowledge, you are welcome at Chabad.
Whether you attended Shabbat services many times in the past, or it’s your first time, at Chabad you will feel at home. Our diverse and vibrant group is more like a family. And did we mention the delicious Kiddush luncheon served every week with a homemade cholent? Well, we think you should come in person and sample it
:)
Chabad is taking an active role in the general community of Hackensack as well. “The Kindness Hour” is a project organized by Chabad to encourage public school teens to devote their free time to do kindness towards others.
When a Jewish visitor to Hackensack needs assistance, he or she knows they can count on Chabad. It might be a request for help for stranded people or even a request for Kosher restaurant recommendations… we are here for them.
When experiencing a challenge, many people seek support, advice or spiritual guidance. The question of “may I talk to the Rabbi” is always answered with a “sure!”.
High on our priority list are those who are often forgotten: the incarcerated, the hospitalized, the homebound. You can find us bringing smiles at the local County Jail, delivering hot chicken soup to patients at Hackensack University Medical Center, and encouraging elderly who live alone.
Chabad doesn’t charge any membership fees. We strongly believe that everyone should feel comfortable being part of the community without any requirements.
It’s important to know that Chabad of Hackensack doesn’t receive any funding from Chabad’s headquarters and is 100% supported by the generosity of people like you. When you donate to Chabad of Hackensack, you know you will be making a real difference in the community and touching the lives of many.
